April Mattson
Over the years I've worn many career hats: legal secretary, media associate, executive assistant, and tri-office gopher, for example. Currently, I manage a learning center. But the hat that I'm most fond of is my three-foot tall neon pink Dr. Seuss hat. When I want to get the creative juices flowing I pop on the Dr. Seuss hat and whoosh, out come the ideas! Writing is like magic to me. Ever since Mrs. Fancy read Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves to my third grade class, I've loved to write.
My background is in English and Creative writing but I also regularly write non-fiction, such as essays and articles. At my various places of work, I've often written ad copy, press releases, and brochures. Hobbies include: creating an English garden, rock gardening, water gardening, entertaining my dog, Stitch, reading, and writing. Since I love to eat, I've gradually become a better cook with the patient and persistent help of mom and dad, and husband, Nico, the super cook. My favorite topics are Home, Kitchen, and Garden. You'll see articles mostly in these categories. But from time to time I might branch out and write about something completely different.
